Dog Friendly Holidays Devon And Cornwall – Hedley Wood Holiday Park is in Holsworthy on the Devon/Cornwall border. Dog Friendly Holidays Devon And Cornwall
We were invited to stay in Luxury Caravans at Hedley Wood Holiday Park. They sleep up to 6 people and welcome 2 dogs. I had never been in a stationary caravan and it was amazing how spacious it was inside. If you have your own caravan or motorhome, Hedley Wood offers a number of self-catering facilities. You can pitch a tent if you want.

Open living/dining in Luxury Caravans; Fridge, Kettle At the back there are 2-3 bedrooms with kitchen and dining room. The master bedroom also has its own bathroom and a family bathroom. I really appreciate the power of swimming. Miles are better than water at home.
There are also many doors in the caravan. It might sound weird, but it’s actually helpful in keeping Woody and the hen from walking around with our muddy paws. Even though the weather wasn’t great, there were plenty of places for the dogs to play indoors outside. Each caravan has flat screen TVs with Freeview and DVD player and central heating. It’s a great excuse to curl up in the evening and enjoy a movie or two.
In October we visited Hedley Wood; That being said, the weather is, to say the least, violent. I love walking in Widemouth Bay between heavy rain and heavy rain. It is just over 4.5 miles from Hedley Wood and a lovely walk. The left side of the beach allows dogs all year round. I had a great time walking the dogs along the Cornish Coast Path last summer; There are scenes of logic and the behavior is very simple; That’s always a bonus. There are steep hills between Crackington Haven and Boscastle, but they make a great day trip with the dogs.
Bude is just 5 miles away with dog friendly restaurants, attractions and a very popular canal walk. We also visited Crackington Haven during our stay. The beach has an annual dog rule that begins at the end of September. Woody and Hen enjoyed exploring the rocky shore and watching the stormy waves was beautiful. I saw a surfer or two in the waves; They should be frozen.

If you are looking for dog friendly restaurants nearby, Coombe Barton Inn, Crackington Haven; We highly recommend the Tree Inn in Stratton or the Bay View Inn in Widemouth Bay. Hedley Wood Holiday Park has its own restaurant and bar. The Woodman Bar serves classic pub fare and Sunday roasts in high season. There are also cabins where visitors can stay if they want to eat without dogs.
It’s safe to say that Woody and Hen, as always, were hanging around with me everywhere. They were very well behaved during our stay and we had a great time. Dogs are always free at Hedley Wood Holiday Park, camping but limited to 2 dogs per caravan. There are no restrictions on travel and staying at home. Woody and Hen even received a welcome pack at their reception upon arrival containing two of their favorite bedtime treats.
